Reid Makes Tracks!

On June 7th, 2011 I participated in the North Vancouver School District Elementary School Track Meet at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby.

I had to get there early and I was able to get there just before the parade of athletes started.  The athletes went around the track, divided by their school banners.

After that, we sang the national anthem.  Then the events started.  I had to wait a long time for my event to start. 

Finally the Grade 7 boys’ long jump was called. We took a practice run, but then it started to rain, so we had to wait around while the officials changed the takeoff spot so that we would not slip.  My best jump was 3.78 m.  I did not win, but I had a great time!
